Local History Resources
The Heritage Center houses a large and diverse collection of materials which document the history of Fresno County since its formation in 1856. The collection's primary components are:
- Approximately 22,000 books and pamphlets pertaining to Fresno County;
- Approximately 3,000 photographs, postcards and fruit crate labels illustrating various Fresno County people and places;
- Approximately 250 oral histories of various people associated with Fresno County history; and
- A large vertical file containing information on many different subjects relating to Fresno County.
