Introduction

The Heritage Center holds the Fresno Genealogical Society's collection of books, pamphlets, periodicals, CD-ROMs and indexes, which contains approximately 10,000 items. A shelf list of the Society's collection (current to 1996) is available for purchase or reference; the complete book holdings are also included in the library's ValleyCat catalogue. The printed catalogue contains information about periodicals owned by the Society which is not found in ValleyCat. The Society's collections are available for use during the Heritage Center's regular hours.

Special resources available in the Heritage Center include the California Death Index 1905-1994 and the California Census 1850-1930 -- both on microfilm.
