How to Borrow Books & Other Materials
- You may borrow books, recordings and other material throughout the San Joaquin Valley Library System. All of the public libraries in Mariposa, Madera, Fresno, Kings, Tulare and Kern Counties belong to this system.
- Bring your card with you every time you want to check something out, renew an item, or reserve a particular title. Your card can be used anywhere in the San Joaquin Valley Library System; there are libraries in Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, and Tulare Counties.
- Each time you check out materials you will get a printed receipt listing them along with their due dates. Most books, books on tape, and music CDs circulate for 3 weeks. Some children's books about states and California missions circulate for one week. Videos and DVDs circulate for one week.
- Also if you cannot find the title you would like to borrow, we can try to get these items for you from other libraries around the country, and occasionally from other countries. This service is called Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
